In September 2014, Jean-François setup CapField Private Equity, his own independent private equity investment advisory firm.
He was formerly head of international investments at Natixis Private Equity (NPE, subsidiary of French banking group BPCE). At NPE, from 2010, he developed and implemented the group international private equity investment strategy, building a broad platform of affiliated investment teams across ten regions in Europe and emerging markets with a dedicated focus on the small and midcap segments. This program produced a robust performance across the different vintages and geographies.
Jean-François set up and managed, as President of the board, the French AMF-regulated management company in charge of this program.
Based on the successful track record, funds were raised from institutional investors. Jean-François was involved in the placement of the funds and was incremental in securing commitments from several high profile investors. In parallel, from this interaction with investors, a dedicated fund of funds was designed, structured and raised.
He has held board positions in funds and management companies and was investment committees and advisory boards member in various funds and fund of funds.
Following a change of strategy, Jean-François was then in charge of creating liquidity options to readjust the portfolio. He concluded more than a dozen secondary transactions.
Prior to this, Jean-François was Investment Manager in an Offset Fund in Abu Dhabi in charge of the origination, execution and monitoring of direct investments.
Jean-François holds a MBA from HEC Business School in Paris, received a Dip.Man from Leicester University and a MSc in Management from Skema Business School. He received his AMF Professional Certification for market professionals in October 2010.
He has been lecturing on Private Equity at the MBA of HEC Paris since 2002.
